About the editor

A molecular biologist turned editor, I help scientists fund and publish their research in English-language journals by improving the quality of the writing in their grant proposals and manuscripts.

Experience and education:

I have over 15 years’ experience as an English-language science editor, mainly in the life sciences. I also edit works in organic chemistry, hydrology, and other fields (see the partial list of journals on the Work page). I have extensive experience editing for authors whose first language is not English.

• Certificate in Editing, University of Washington

• PhD in Experimental Pathology, University of Washington

• BA in Biology, College of Creative Studies, University of California, with extensive coursework in Literature

• Research experience at Harvard, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, the University of Washington, and Seattle Children’s Research Institute.
